For those who are TL/DW, the entire basis of the video is that porn is the foundational element of all sex work. Porn leads to people wanting to act out porn, basically.

Someone needs to tell these dumb shits about Mary Magdalene, and ask them if they think porn was a huge, society wide problem in Judea in the 1st century BCE.

Well.

If every man (and woman) in the world was in a relationship or relationships that provided them with complete sexual satisfaction, then there wouldn't really be a porn or prostitution market. No demand = no supply.

Sex is as much an emotional act as it is a physical act and I am of the opinion that when people watch porn of have sex with a hooker they are still looking for that intimacy. They might not get it, but they still want it. The act might make that desire for intimacy subside a bit, but it could also cause it to grow. So... people who are sexually unfulfilled do have a rift in their psyche somewhere. Call it longing. Call it lonliness. Call it whatever you want, it is there. What heals that rift? Deep personal sexual intimacy and honesty with another human being will at least cover the part that I'm addressing.

However, I am not of the opinion that prostitution and pornography is unilaterally exploitative. There is prostitution and pornography that is exploitative. There is also prostitution and pornography that is not.

I saw this video with a moralistic/Christian bent on Facebook posted by a female acquaintance. It has also appeared on /r/nofap and a few other subreddits.

After watching the video, this was my response on facebook:

"Research has found that pornography is more likely a substitute for violent sex acts than it is a contributing factor. In particular, the dramatic increase in the availability of internet pornography from the 90s onward has been associated with a decrease in violent sex crimes. It's not much of a leap to suggest that the same is likely true of the sex industry."
