The court found that she acted in self-defence so I'm fine with this. What I hate is when 'abused women' assault or kill their partners, not in self defence, but because they 'snap', and they are defended. People are free to leave relationships before it ever gets that far.

Firstly, he's not a woman. He is a transgender man and being female-bodied doesn't make him any less of a man. Secondly, I don't see any indication that the writer isn't 'celebrating' his death and no one's arguing that he wasn't abusive. The only time he's referred to is as female after the revelation is once, an incorrect 'her?' in parentheses. Seems like perfectly objective reporting to me. The only person assuming that him being female-bodied makes a difference is you.
