I read the FAQ and I just found MensRights yesterday. I've been on Reddit for a bit. I think I saw something on the news or Buzzfeed about this group a while back but just looked at it recently. I was arrested February 20, 2010. I just got sentenced last week. I am not a violent person. Quite the opposite. Timid is the word anyone would use to describe me after ten minutes with me. It took me a long time and a lot of therapy to realize I was the victim, not her. I had dealt with trauma in my youth which I suppose is what made me timid. I am not trying to make excuses at all. Gender roles are a bitch. We're supposed to be tough men and you'd never even think of complaining to the authorities because first of all you're supposed to be a "man" without reacting. Second, the above mentioned authorities would laugh in your (my) face if you were to complain that you were being abused by a 5'2" woman. Four years of insults, controlling, manipulation and physical abuse. After having looked at some of this blog I've realized that I made mistakes such as engaging when I should have run. Hindsight 20/20. I tried leaving. I have too much sympathy and empathy. My biggest fault. I came back numerous times. Those were the only times she admitted fault; when she wanted me back. False accusations? Yes. In my state the man is the perpertator. I could go on and on but basically it took me a lot of research to realize that she was a textbook abuser. But only men abuse women, right? I will end with this consession: Men traditionally are the instigators / aggressors / perps. That doesn't mean that's the case every time. I could go on and on. I am a pussy because I'm complaining.
