Genuinely heartbreaking, but it seems he's not a fan of this subreddit thanks to some idiots trying to use him for political purposes, so I hope people respect that and give him the space he's said he wants.

I tire of the constant "don't blame yourself, you couldn't help it, blah blah" you constantly see after stories like this. I have never been victimized like this, but I think reinforcing my agency and convincing myself that I have the power to make sure it doesn't happen to me again is endlessly more empowering than the myopic comforting which convinces people to rob themselves of their own agency and make them feel helpless.
