This just made me speechless. There are just so many things about that I find surprising, ridiculous, and downright stupid. There is no other words for it.

First of all, what the hell is the deal with this sort of thing? How can people be so irrationally scared of eachother, that they expect to be assaulted in dark parking lots, like they are all main characters in low-budget thrillers? Being attacked in public by a stranger hiding in the dark, almost never fucking happens and even SUGGESTING an initiative like this only gives stupid myths like these merit.

Second, even if this would somehow serve to make women less scared of parking lots (I imagine they'd just be even more scared, but what the fuck do I know about psychology), why exactly is it that women are the only ones who deserve this kind of treatment, when most victims of violence from strangers are in fact males? And like the guy in the article says (Thank God at least one person is fucking reasonable); why not put up more lighting and more security?

The whole wording in this article is just fucking odd and weird. It starts off saying that it's sexist to create parking lots for women, and at first I was like: "Good on them for seeing that", but then I realized that they aren't seeing it as pampering women, but rather as some weird fucking misogynist issue; like parking lots for women only could insinuate that women can't drive. What? That doesn't follow at all! I wonder if it's also sexist to give women money, simply because they are women, not because it's a discrimination based on gender, but because we're insinuating that they couldn't earn it themselves.

Damn... I have so much more to say about why this is just downright ridiculous, but I don't even want to waste my breath.

The original "women's only" parking spots in Germany was for a publicity stunt. They wanted to generate a buzz so more tourists would show up.

I've heard of closer parking for pregnant women/ moms of young children, but special parking lots for women without those burdens? I think it's a bit ridiculous. Although, I don't think many men can appreciate just how terrifying it is to walk through a large parking garage at night, only to be followed to your car by a strange man. It's happened to me, but I don't think we should get separate parking for it.
