I really do not understand how the Author thinks this is such a bad thing for woman....

I do not understand how the author thinks it will turn teenage girls in sex machines....

I do not understand how the author thinks that suddenly males will get a LOT more power in relationships....

All this would do is ensure that man don't get children if they don't want to. Which is great but doesn't imply any of the above.

Female birth control could also allow your husband to go sleep with that chick with the 34DD rack and not get her knocked up. Since when is adultery the sole domain of women? Last I checked it was split pretty evenly down the middle.

And then the author merely glances over the benefits of giving men reproductive control as a victory for equality. Instead he basically turns male birth control into some magical method that will enable men to manipulate women into sex whenever they want since they will no longer have to fear surprise pregnancies.

And he acts like all teenage girls and adult women will somehow suffer as a result of male birth control. Yeah, some will, but the author seems to be under the impression that every woman is just looking for an unsuspecting male to mate with and chain him up for 18 years. I can guarantee you most women will think temporary infertility for men would be awesome.

Above all else, however, I think society needs to do away with the one-method-is-enough mentality when it comes to birth control, especially when male methods hit the market. Just like a woman can lie to you about taking her pills, a man could just as easily lie about having the RISUG procedure. Everyone should take it upon themselves to control their own reproductive systems and never trust anyone else to do it for them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying paternity fraud never happens or that some women never use pregnancy and children as cash cows, because it does. It's not extraordinarily common, but it is just common enough to merit caution when entering a relationship. Which is why I feel male birth control would be incredible for all of mankind.

Just think of the potential for third world countries! If RISUG is as cheap as some are claiming, it would be an excellent idea to perform the procedure for little to no cost in places like Africa. Think about it, infertility for up to ten years with virtually zero effort! Attempts to get everyone to use condoms have failed miserably in such places, but this could be a huge step towards stability in countries with out-of-control birth rates.

I can imagine how much we men will be in charge once we control our own reproductive destinies, and can withhold viable sperm from time-constrained women.
