I am particularly fond of this load of garbage:

I am sure that the hon. Gentleman will agree that prison serves a number of purposes. One is the protection of the public. Another, though, is of course to rehabilitate offenders and prevent reoffending. It is pretty clear that prison is not doing a very good job at those things—for all sorts of reasons—both for women and for men. And the protection of the public could be better achieved through dedicated secure units for women rather than putting them into a system that is predominantly designed for a male lifestyle and male behaviours, and therefore incarcerates them in masculine-led regimes.

To which Mr. Davies responds:

These women are in women’s prisons, which are not “masculine regimes”. They are in female prisons, for goodness’ sake.

Somebody send this man a bottle of champagne.

Given that the government have repeatedly made it official policy to be more lenient towards women, I'm not sure what sort of idiot would think women are treated more harshly by the courts in the first place.

America is so bad our politicians almost never talk about these things openly. The only semi mainstream people talking at all about these lies openly are a handful of non leftist women and even they are attacked viciously and censored.

Women are the majority electorate in most nations. Women are on the government teat more often than men in most nations. It is not surprising that politicians will pander to the ones who beg for the most government money.
