It's fine. Like Lifetime, Oxygen, or BET, it caters to a stereotype. However, it doesn't perpetuate that stereotype by making a caricature of men. It plays up it's over-exaggerated macho-ness in a completely tongue in cheek way. Which I find acceptable as long as it's clearly ironic.

I don't watch TV.

My sister loves it, she dislikes most girl/drama shows. She loves breaking bad, deadwood, band of brothers, was a larger fan of the Shield than I was, etc. etc.

I'd say her only TV watching thing I dislike is she loves reality TV from a point and laugh perspective. I avoid reality TV because of its deprave nature.

As for the network and content itself, it is the televised version of "askMen". It's a media portrayal of what "society" says men are instead of what they really are.

It is also a case of ignorance is bliss, just because it's the "furthest thing away from" W/E, Oxygen, lifetime, or whatever is the saccharine version of women's programming these days, does not mean it is "for men".

I'd say AMC i one of the best channels personally, but, I haven't watched TV in, what must now be 5 years.

my gf is addicted to 1000 ways to die.. but since we found it was on netflix, we haven't bothered with spike.

With channels catering to women (such as OWN etc) its nice to see Spike catering towards men. I see no issue with it.

The only thing I don't like is all the huge tits and sexual things with women; but likewise, I'd be just as bothered if it were the other way around. I guess I feed off of useless knowledge and don't care much for sex.

It's kinda why I'm here on Reddit, actually.
