A better article than I expected. My only issue with it was restricting it to the draft. We have lots of regulations of men's bodies...

A great article, but I still agree with conscription should the country be invaded.

Here in Australia, our constitution allows the government to enact conscription if enemy forces directly invade Australian territory.

We're talking about an extreme and unlikely situation here (indeed it has only happened once in our history) and in such extreme situations as the survival of the nation being at stake, I believe sexism against either sex is justified.

To be quite frank, women just suck at infantry combat and there is little reason to conscript them into the army in a fighting role even in an extreme situation such as the one I discussed. This isn't sexism, this is just realism.

If you want them to have some non-direct-combat role (such as serving on Navy ships) and enact conscription for that then sure go ahead. If women in general can physically handle the work in question then sure conscript them, but if not (as in the case of being infantry) then don't.

Edit: That being said, if a woman volunteers for a combat role and passes all the same requirements as a man (I imagine these women will be few and far between but meh) then by all means allow her to serve.
