It's good to see them adding this along side their maternity leave entitlements. It should have been announced along side it as well as the option for the sharing of the leave (the couple takes 6 weeks each instead of the mother taking the full 12).

A lot of the time when there is leave for men it's really just more leave for women because it's "transferable" to the mom, so of course it always is transferred to the mom since our society demands the father sacrifice all for the mother during pregnancy and afterward.

Is that the case here?

this is a bribe to fathers so that they'll be less mad at the probability of finding themselves kicked to the curb
