Because if you actually read the comment in context he is saying that men should be able to surrender their paternal rights regardless of whether abortion is illegal. Which doesn't make sense. He's saying that men can opt out, but women can't. What makes men so special that they get extra privileges? Isn't that what we're so pissed about women doing? Either they both get a choice or neither of them do.

Furthermore, if you read up the comment tree, he is saying that if a woman gets pregnant it's her fault and her responsibility, not the man's. Don't we also get royally pissed off when women say that pregnancy is solely the man's fault, not the woman's?

The person is failing to realize that legal paternal surrender can only function well once good bc and abortion availability is in place.

As a bonus, the presence of legal paternal surrender and the idea of consent to fatherhood, should force more care to be taken with b/c and the rate of single motherhood, unwanted children and paternity frauds down.

Post down voted for trolling, strawmanning and drama queening.

He is against abortions.

If you read in context, he is saying that a man has the option to "opt out" any time after conception, and that the woman's "opt out" is the fact that she can control her own reproductive system.

It just doesn't make any sense.
