I think that both sides have some excellent points

The problem is that feminism is an anti-male hate movement so the fact that you think they have "some excellent points" isn't very helpful. On the contrary like Freud they have ideas that are good but not new, and ideas that are new but not good.

Or, from the womans side addressing the problems with telling women how to stay safe from rapists when out alone, instead of addressing why there are so many rapes (victim blaming)

For example that statement is sexist - well its feminist so obviously it is. It falsely implies only women are victims and so it hides and diminished male victims. Men are the majority of victims of violence and half the victims of rape. Now if you want to talk about REALLY blaming the victim look at how feminists treat male victims of rape and domestic violence as if they were the attackers.

Obviously that's just an example but anything you say as a feminist is based on anti-male hatred and sexism. That's what feminism is. There aren't any "excellent points" any more than the Nazis of the KKK had any excellent points.

This is a question which is asked frequently here, which is one of the reasons for the downvotes.

There are a lot of common interests between men's rights and women's rights. Over time I expect the level of cooperation to grow. But you also have to recognize that the sexes also have different goals and motivations, and that competition between the sexes is as old as sexual reproduction itself.

You've touched on one of those issues where there will always be a difference of motivation - (male perpetrated) rape. Men have a motivation to defend against false claims; women have a motivation to favor the prosecution. Women however are motivated to dismiss female perpetrated rape.

The conflict in interest between the sexes cannot cleanly be resolved in many issues, so they will continue to be politically contested. You can't expect MRAs and feminists to live in harmony any better than liberals and conservatives do.

My question mensrights, is, if it wouldn't be more beneficial to push for a step forward for BOTH men and women.

I'm fairly left-leaning on social matters, and I already do what I can politically to better the condition of groups that I believe have got the short end of the stick in current society. Like I've mentioned before, I have supported affirmative action and social policies for other groups of people, women included. And I will continue to do what I feel is right.

However, personally, I want nothing to do with feminists. I have repeatedly pointed out on this sub that being a man is incongruent with feminism, unless you loathe your own self or your gender. IMO, the men's rights movment cannot work with feminists. Our goals are irreconcilable.

EDIT: Btw, when I say affirmative action, I mean this. 50% of the admission slots are for minorities. 30% of the remaining 50% are for women who aren't minorities. And I think it's needed especially in education. I am as bleeding heart as they fucking come.

It would be good to work together, but at this early stage feminists are opposed to men's rights.

This is partly due to their own propaganda which paints men as evil, dominant oppressors, and partly due to their fear of losing the power and privilege they have gained.

I hope this may change eventually, but as long as mainstream feminists continue to attack men and to campaign against equality, the two movements will be in conflict.
