What this article shows is that women are the primary recipients of government entitlements. Entitlements constitute most of the U.S. government budget and are the main reason the U.S. has a 1.3 trillion dollar deficit this year.

Perhaps it is time to demand that the recipients of all these government handouts "woman up", be "strong, independent women" and provide for themselves, rather than expecting a free ride at taxpayer expense.

Edit - Oh look, there at the bottom - it's the pay gap myth.

Women receive more benefits than men, therefore cutting benefits means women are discriminated against? That's some sound logic right there!

Uh, the article talks about cutting funding to medicare, medicaid and social security. The majority of the beneficiaries of those programs are women, so it's factual to say that it will disproportionately affect women.

Although it's nonsense to say that it's sexist because it disproportiontely affects women. It only disproportionately affects women because they're more likely to use the service. The service itself is non-gendered.

The article doesn't explicity talk about homeslessness.

About 2 years ago I read an article from an AARP type portal/blog that discussed how the suicide rate for women was increasing at a much higher rate than men and how this was a problem.

Now... they weren't bemoaning the respective suicide rates, but the difference between the rate of the increase between the two rates.

If you were not already intimately aware of the two respective suicide rates you would have easily missed the distinction as NO WHERE in the entire article do they talk about the suicide rates.

It's like entire articles writing about suicide attempts differences between the genders and how that is cause for helping women more.

My favourite part is where the author writes:

He's no supporter of equal pay either.

Before backing this claim up with a single piece of evidence which is tenuously linked to an equal pay issue.
