What you forgot to say is that there is NO CONSEQUENCE for the parent (usually the mother) who fabricates a false charge of abuse in order to exclude the other parent (usually the father) from the life of his child.

This is why it happens "so often". Because there is no punishment.

Also, more often than not, the false accusation is taken seriously. Even when the charges are eventually dropped, the damage is already done, and the child-parent bond is either broken or crippled.
