hey, i just found this subreddit and something has been bugging me for awhile.

okay let me start by saying i don't work at this company anymore, haven't for at least 6 months but it still bugs me a lot. so i worked at a furniture store called bombay. i was the stock guy and mostly dealt with unloading boxes and organizing the stock room. occasionally though i was needed to organize some things in the store. here are a couple examples of sexism i've encountered from my manager.

i'm arranging a tower with candles on it, i'm not even half way done yet and the manager comes over and says "that looks awful. that's what i get asking a man to do it. i'll get one of the girls on it, why don't you go in the back and move some boxes?"

when hanging paintings i'd make suggestions on where it should go to match the decor and be immediately dismissed because, as my manager put it "i'm a man and i should leave these things for girls or gays."

those are the only examples that stand out in my mind but in the 9 months i worked there it was pretty much daily. i don't work there anymore (and i'm so happy that i don't) but it bugs me to think that this bitch manager got away with being sexist. is there anything i can do, and should i even bother?
