Yeah it seems like whoever wrote it just wanted an excuse to bring up the wage gap... even though it's an incredibly easily manipulated statistic because it doesn't always take into account raises for things like working longer hours, willingness to relocate, etc... But this is preaching to the choir here I guess.

The sad thing is that while it's become much more acceptable for women to be breadwinners (in fact, some would argue necessary for the middle class) it has not become any more acceptable for husbands to be primarily domestic. Most women still refuse to date an unemployed man, for example. And this is one of the "men's issues" that feminism purports to support.

An example of feminist equality being a one way street.

For years, I was the breadwinner in my house because the child support my husband paid to his ex cut his income way down... part of the time, into less than half.

So 40% were breadwinners of single parent households, and the sample was 1400. So 53% of the 1400 were breadwinners, but 40% of the 1400 were single and breadwinners. Assuming even if this sample was nationally representative, that would mean 75% of female breadwinners are single.

I'd like to a nationally representative sample that takes into account the transfer of wealth from the father of her children/ex-husband.
