I've always agreed with this. No one will accuse a woman of being a pedophile. Therefore, when a woman does do something that is vaguely pedophiliac, no one will bat an eye because, damn it, she's a woman.

Actually, a woman was charged with child pornography for using such a picture in testimony regarding the effects of coal mining on water quality in Appalachia. It was a picture of a young child sitting in a bathtub full of visibly contaminated water.

Is there a "cute" way of saying vagina?

Neither of my parents showed off nude pictures of me when I was little. I agree that no parent should show off any bath pics either, but mainly because of the paranoia that others may have for the parent; male or female. Nude pics are the same. If nudity wasn't such a big deal then I'd have no problem with people showing them off. After all, it's a kid and there should be nothing sexual about it.

I think bathtub photos are ok as long as nothing below the waist shows up in the actual photo. They are supposed to be cute for grandparents to show off once in awhile.

The only photos of myself and my sister as babies in the bath have conveniently places bubbles.

I really don't see it as a big deal myself and I think it's up to the discretion of the parent. I also think this sort of thing is heavily steeped in culture and not really something we need to concern ourselves with. If more significant issues are dealt with then cultural attitudes will change to reflect that.

Personally , I've come to believe that people are waaaaaaaayyyyy too worked up about the seriously overblown threat of pedophilia . I'm not saying it doesn't happen , I'm simply saying that the last twenty years or so have convinced just about everyone that there's a pedophile lurking behind every bush . Given that the incidence rates are actually pretty low , one has to wonder how it ever came to having pictures of your own kids in a bath being considered pornographic in some way .

I guess it's undeniable that it's males that have been targetted as the primary executors of pedophilic crimes but then again , that's a reflection of the fact that the vast majority of pedophiles are male .

Yeah , yeah ... women can and have done it too but be honest and at least admit what everybody without a reality-denying agenda already knows .
Having said that , it's not like every male commits such crimes . In fact , it would seem that only a tiny fraction of males commit acts of pedophilia . One has to wonder why it is that a tiny fraction of males committing a crime has somehow resulted in you not being able to sit next to a kid on a plane or relax in a park you paid for without some woman coming along and claiming you're leering at kids . One has to wonder why because if we were to extend this logic and apply it evenly , wouldn't women (as the primary abusers of children as well as the single largest component of the population that commits infanticide and child murder) be banned from virtually all contact with anybody over the age of 'just conceived' and under the age of "heading to university" ?
