I remember one of my exes cheated on me, broke up with me, and then accused me of rape, when we were both virgins. Everyone just ASSUMED I'd done it, and applauded her for "finding a good guy".

I'm the one who bought her everything she ever wanted, loved her unconditionally, defended her when she was weak, and held her high when she was strong. I'm the one who told her to wait when she wanted to jump my bones.

I'm the one who had that thrown back in his face when she cheated on me. I'm the one who had to be seen as the rapist through half of my time in high school. That makes me the bad guy.

The hardest part was that nobody would stand on my side. My friends who believed me would not defend me publicly.

Yeah, women obviously have it worse.

I can definitely see why you'd take issue with the first picture (it most certainly is a double standard), but the second - I'd assume few people would take issue with a similar image with a man about women. Anyone want to make one and post it, then follow up with the responses?

I don't get it. The second post is obviously messed up; the first post just seems to be about general trust in relationships. I read it as being about cheating or her leaving the hypothetical guy; I read it as "she trusts you, you should return the favor and trust her if you see her with another guy." Reading it as the girl has left the guy is your right, I guess, but I don't think it was intended that way.

Yes, it's messed up. It's a huge double standard, with many little divisions to it, not the least of which is the asinine social assumption that whoever cheats, it's the guy's fault, as portrayed in the first image.

There's also the equally asinine social assumption (as put forth by my husband's ex, who turned out to be a cheater) that a woman can have male friends without cheating, but if a man talks to another woman, he's obviously sleeping with her.

...and the acceptance of women's jealousy as a natural human emotion, but when men get jealous it's seen as a sign of being a potential abuser. I've had people try to break up relationships I've been in based on that one. OMG, he's worried? Dump him! He's an abuser-in-waiting! ::melodramatic waving of D/V info-pamphlets::

...which leads to another one... the fact that some tolerate and would even encourage women to be violently or otherwise criminally vengeful when a man cheats, but the reverse would lead to an arrest, prosecution, and penalties.

So yeah, messed up. And way too common.

I didn't read the first image the same way you did..I took it as 'if you dont call or text her after a date, she might go out with someone else'. I guess it could be either, hard to know.

Because many Women(Not all obviously) use feminist doctrine as an excuse for failing/ and or poor choices. They choose a bad partner, it's not their fault no, is it their short sightedness in the matter, no, it's mans fault. Men have no such counter doctrine en mass and don't have this weird sense that nothing is their fault. It's like the wealthy using right wing doctrine to avoid paying taxes, their just greedy. Its a cover up I tell you, now where's my tin hat.

Since I only have a mobile phone at the moment, yet I can't reply on the OP's first link. I find it Ironic that the Unicorn is cited in the article. By definition, the Unicorn is known as a creature that is "Impossible to capture".

Do you very, VERY few good men, Feel that it is right that since some random woman got drunk and slept with someone "below her standards" claims sexual assault? There have been PLENTY of men that have woken up next to a woman that sans alcohol, should be "below his standards".

How often do you hear that guy posting and screaming "Oh no, she must've raped me, because I find her unattractive while sober!"

Male or female, you made a choice. Drunk, high, or tweaking out of your mind, you made the choice. So live up to it! Stop blaming others for what would seem a poor decision while inebriated(sp?)!

TL;DR Own up to your decisions, and grow from them! Selfish Assholes.

Is there a greater connection between the two posts from Facebook other than they are opposite viewpoints on the same topic? Because I don't actually see any overt hypocrisy there if that's the case. I don't want to be overly critical, but that's just what I see.

Yeah what she did was really wrong but it sorta seems like a private matter and none of your business to call her out in public. Maybe I don't know enough of the details. Just my opinion.

I totally feel you, man. I agree that this is some messed up crap, and all wrong. That's why I dressed it up and posted it! This is also a first for me. Mentioned on Reddit like a boss.
