Of course they were being unfair, and sexist.

They had never experienced the pain of a kidney stone - or of childbirth, either. They had no basis for comparison, except for their prejudices.

I don't think pain should be a gendered pissing contest (no pun intended). Everyone's experiences in childbirth and in kidney stone passage are different. The only one who could say with any certainty would be a woman who has both given birth and passed kidney stones, but again, since everyone's experiences with pain are different, that wouldn't be reliable.

I don't have any sources to back this up but I have heard from women that passing a kidney stone is more painful than child birth

A lot of women will throw around the "you will never experience childbirth" as a way to shut down any kind of argument, and a lot of times it will work, but it is bullshit(I see a lot of women also use virgin shamming as a way to shut down arguments and belittle men, even though women are in a completely separate situation from men when it comes to sex and available partners). You don't lose a voice because you haven't experienced childbirth, nor are women entitled to take it away from you because they have(especially not when they haven't experienced it themselves). It is a sexist thing for them to do, to try to shut you up and put you down because of your gender. It's a common human trait for people to take their own experiences and to over-glorify them(kind of like, someone who climbs mount Everest or sees a pretty sunset somehow comes to the conclusion that he/she is an authority on life and that any argument you say against them is therefor invalid),l but this one also happens to have feminism, chivalry and misandry at its side. The truth is popping out a child does not make you savant(there are plenty of idiotic/bad mothers out there), nor does it make women physically, emotionally or "spiritually" superior; that is a delusion they tell themselves, or that society chants for them, so they can feel better about themselves.

As much as I would love to be able to experience childbirth myself, something which I could consider to be a positive/emotional experience despite any pain(Something which a lot of women tend to take for granted when it is convenient for them), but that's just not going to happen. Doesn't mean I am any less of a person for it or that my views/experiences aren't just as valuable. I have also passed a kidney store(and another still to go), so I know it much it does hurt. The female body is built to bare children but the male body is not build to pass stones. There are no redeeming qualities, sense of accomplishment or greater purpose/goal to passing stones. It's just a bad physical, biological or evolutionary anomaly.

Well, women could comprehend pushing a stone through their urethra, kidney stones happen to women to, and women do have urethras.

Kidney stones are generally less likely to kill you than childbirth as well.

Kidney stones from what I remember are caused by caused by diet genetics and back luck.
