So This is the deal. I stayed w this 18yr old girl and her older sister in a trailer when I was 14. I got her pregnant when I lost my virginity. She somehow got the court to supposedly consider us common-law married but I was not emancipated from my 68yr old adopted father. So they charged me with child support but as far as i can remember I was relinquished of rights. Also the mother admitted to me recently, she'd asked the courts to 'hide' the child from me. So years go by and I'm under the assumption that I've been barred from seeing the child but somehow I'm supposed to pay 50 dollars a month in child support. WTF else is a minor going to do. So I turn 18 and start schooling. Federal loans, no problem. Always been a wildman behind the wheel so never really pursued a driver's license. Eventually after around my 20's I start getting wages garnished. And in all honesty i was enraged and quit. Since then I've been constantly pursued with this debt(?) of under 2k and had my license revoked several times.

So fast forward to last year when out of the blue, the mother emails me on myspace or fb and started dialogue about my daughter wanting to meet me! So I get stoked and try to be patient with my anger at this woman so I can finally get to know my little girl. We have about 4 or five meetings supervised by the mother and most conversations were driven by her. Turns out my daughter is a little badass version of me and has been rebelling from the man she'd known as 'dad' and difficult with her mother. Don't take this the wrong way, but they're halfwits, complete with overt self confidence and brash assumptions. My girl was supposedly considering lesbianism and the 'dad' is quite religious.

So this goes on the few times until then the mother, who processes medical claims but considers herself a paralegal, writes up this ridiculous agreement for me to sign concerning visitations. It's poorly written and very defensive, accusatory, and just plain silly. So I tell her I'd like my actual Paralegal friend to look it over. This doesn't go over well and next thing I know I'm getting calls from the enraged mother because she'd apparently heard my opinions. A woman whom I've only met once and told quite rudely to mind her own business for trying to placate me when I had a right to be upset. It was a messed up ordeal to spin on a 14 year old kid. Anyway it gets back to the mother that I used the term Statutory and took it as I'd said she raped me. So she pulls all the plugs on our contact and got pretty nasty via emails several times. It even spread onto facebook and pitted my daughter against me. Next thing I get is a message from my daughter wanting to meet at a park to discuss something. I'm apprehensive due to my understanding I wasn't allowed to see her till after she turned 18. Sometime after, I'm contacted again because she wants to leave them and live with me. I said cool, but that we needed to ask HER some questions to find if it was just rebellion from them or a genuine want to be with me. Nothing comes of it.

So for the past couple months after my daughter initiated the conversation, somewhat apologetically, we've been chatting on FB via private messaging. We've hit it off extremely well, and she has continued expressing her want to move in w me after she turns 18. Of course, I'm stoked, I totally have been waiting so long for so many of these conversations and had to miss out on so much. So tonight I get another email from the mother rambling about some other rumors she'd heard about me i think? It was really vague and vicious. Apparently the child support enforcement agency is looking for me, and I'm the hugest douche in the universe.

The last msg I got from my kid said she was grounded for "speaking her mind" (but she's been made to copy bible passages for being lesbian) but that she was sorry she couldn't chat every day as we'd been doing. Also the mother's email said my kid was angry with me. So In Colorado, HOW FUCKED UP IS THIS?? Or do I really owe this crazy c**t for the child support when I've never really been able to be in my kids life? And what when she does (if) come live with me. Apparently liability continues until she's 19 or graduates...

TL;DR When I haven't been allowed to see my child born to an adult as i was a minor, Why the shit am I wanted by the Child Support People?
