So, this timeline is really it? This justifies all of the ink the Chronicle has spilled on this story? All of the howling for Ross's blood? All of the character assassination against the "victim" Eliana? I read this expecting to find something, SOMETHING, to justify the witch-hunt against Ross...but nothing. A heated argument not just about a trip to Venezuela, but about a possible custody dispute (the Chronicle fails to point out, characteristically, the previously reported statement that the argument was about whether Eliana might not come back to the U.S. with their son), that resulted in Ross grabbing his wife's arm hard enough to leave a bruise. That is what Ross is guilty of, folks. That, apparently, is ALL that Ross is guilty of, given that even at this late date, the Chronicle can't come up with more.

False imprisonment? Guess what, telling your wife "please don't leave the house right now" is enough to be "guilty" of false imprisonment. I would guess that is why Ross and his attorneys agreed to plea to that.

And what about the attacks on Eliana Lopez, both in the comments and in the "guest" editorial? And the disrespect shown to her and her wishes by the courts, the police, the District Attorney, and the DV community?

If Ross and his family have the stomach for it, I hope he will continue to fight back against this ridiculous witch hunt.

Even if the worst allegations against Ross were true, the DA's office has a lot to answer for in their abuse of the media and the "victim" in this case. No San Franciscan, accused of anything, should be tried in the media the way Ross was. No spouse should have their wishes and well-being so completely disregarded as Eliana's were by the DA's office in this case.
