This is one of the saddest, craziest stories I've read recently. I think this is more of a race thing than an MRM thing. It sounds like he was pounced on because he was black, rather than because he was male, but wow. The misconduct that put him in jail for 30 years is sickening. This man had his life stolen.

Thanks for posting that. As much as anything, stories like that are what this subreddit is about.

I can already picture people in lots of venues writing that the news media should not report on cases like this as much as they do, since they are so rare and it distracts from their law and order agenda and victim advocacy.

I have no idea how rare these cases are, and I'll not trust flat assertions that they are rare enough to not worry about, but when judge after judge has their hand in a case like this, and none of the police, judges, or prosecutors involved were seriously punished for the gross misconduct that allows it to happen even once, then I think we are not publicizing these cases enough.

When the next time a judge or prosecutor tries to pull shit like this, and their colleagues are all over them, and they are promptly removed from their posts, then I will concede that we have publicized it enough.
