I didn't take the time to investigate the study itself to verify the claims, but if it is problem free then I think you have made a really good argument about "controlling reproduction".

^ Old school Game practicioner. Welcome to the party guys! This info has been circulating for a while. The mile wide 10,000 foot view is basically over the course of human history women have reproduced WAY more than men have, and in a general sense it's the alpha males hooking up with lots of women--think defacto harems. This is why marriage is so important for civilization, it breaks up these harems and gives the rest of the guys out there a shot the women who would otherwise be monopolized. Without this institution in place you have lots of anarchy from guys who are frustrated and lots of guys not feeling the need to contribute to society because they're already getting all the sex they'll ever want (aka peter pans). Does any of this look familiar to what's starting to happen in western society? Without a functioning institution of marriage things fall apart.
