Because being subjected to an array of terrible behaviour during relationships, being screwed over in a divorce court, and owing large amounts of child-support are in no way legitimate reasons for an older man being pissed-off at the system.

I'm 29, unmarried, childless, and still a pretty big MRA supporter. Why? I was bashed in the head by the equality-club all my life. Treat both genders equally, girls are just as good as boys at everything, etc. So, with my gender-equality lenses on, what did I see the most of in media? Man bashing. Commercial after commercial, sitcom after sitcom, who was the unfunny person in it? The woman. It seemed that her job on the magical moving picture box was to look pretty and roll her eyes at the husband (the real talent of the show, usually).

Of course, pointing this out got nothing but "it's just humor." My parent's reactions to a man hitting a woman vs a woman hitting a man (no matter the context) was priceless. Some genders are more equal than others.

Doing my research with the growing MRA movement has revealed the vast inequalities in the justice system, the government, academia, and the role of the father as an ATM. It's quite scary what's allowed and not allowed by the politically correct factions out there. Are there women in plight in the world? God yes, every one of them gets their own segment on Oprah and the rest of the corporate media, so we all know they exist. The silent victims out there (the homeless men, the divorced dad going bankrupt just to enforce child visitation rights he is due, the vets thrown out on the street, the men sacrificing their lives in mines, etc.) are the ones getting institutionally screwed.

Im an 18 year old, definitely unmarried childless male and at this stage I cant think of a better cause than MRA's, for me at least. Especially because I know that for every MRA, their are 100 others focusing on helping women, children, blacks, gays etc (and more power to them for doing so) so not focusing much attention to those issues is okay because there are better people than I doing that activist work for me.

The main reason I am interested in men's rights is because I honestly believe that it can fill in the cracks of inequality, with some proper organisation.

It's also partly pre-emptive. I am trying to make myself understand that I am just one solid mistake away from having my life fucked up and that there won't be the support I would need in that situation. (eg. rights to see my hypothetical children)

I also just feel sorry for a lot of men in horrible situations, that I wouldn't be able to cope with if I was in their shoes.

I get fucking sick and tired of the 'straight-white-male' tag that get's thrown around. I am a completely straight, white and male and am NOT ashamed of it either. Anyone who would believe my words to be less important than theirs because of my 'normalness' can go fuck their ignorant selves.

I don't have any big issues in my life. I have never been abused, I have more angst built up at my damn tutors than I do for feminism or women (in fact there are only THREE males in my family: myself, my dad and my cousin. The other six are all strong opinionated FEMINIST women: 2 sisters, mum, gran, aunt, cousin).

I am not frustrated either.

My childhood was a little different than some peoples because of anxiety but this just makes me empathise with people and this is why I, personally, recognise that men's rights is legitimate.

Regardless of what that rag jezebel would have you believe.
