I knew a FTM. He gave a very good reason for not having a lower body modification, though he used a 'stand to pee' to make himself feel more like a man. From my understanding, besides for the fact he was too poor for the operation, it would require removing a major strip of skin from the leg that would have left not merely a scar, but an actual crater in the skin.

Sounds good to me. From what I understand it's very common for FtM individuals to not have a penis since the results of the genital surgery are not as functional as in the MtF case.
