I'm not complacent about even one abortion (not staying up nights, but not complacent either) - and this article is CRAP. Any British politician who knows anything at all about the scourge of American "independent" anti-abortion "clinics" who manipulate and lie to vulnerable women knows better than to open to door to the existence of such places in the UK. (There are about five of these shitholes within easy driving distance of my house - and one real women's clinic that provides actual medical care including abortions.)

I think 200,000 abortions annually in a country with nationalized health care indicates a serious problem in their CONTRACEPTION education and access. They should certainly work on that. But blaming counselors at the abortion clinics for the fact that women who are unwillingly pregnant go ahead and have abortions is pretty goddamned dumb - and a wedge for the crazies to gain a foothold at the edges of the UK medical system.

I'm pro- all kinds of abortion, including financial 'abortion' by men should a woman choose to remain pregnant.

I can't imagine abortion is used that way, no matter how dare devil those involved.
