So, I frequent this bar once or twice on a weekly basis and have built a healthy Customer/Client rapport with a few of the bartenders there. On said night, me and a buddy were standing having a couple drinks by the bar and as I was taking my last generous gulp to finish the drink, someone smacks me on my elbow causing me to send ice flying errrrwhere. I look over and I see one of the bartenders that I know (HB7-8 let's call her Robin) who had just got beside the bar to order a drink giving me a smile.

My emotional reaction to this situation was anger/disbelief and it definitely showed on my face while turning to face my assailant. When I realized who it was I had a split second to think how I was going to try to turn this to my advantage in gaming her because I never see her drinking at said bar on her night off. On a side note, I never game the bartenders because I respect their time and emotional energy, as they are working, but if I see them while they're not on the clock I figure its fair game.

Sooooo it was me, her random guy friend(let's say Matt), and Robin standing from left to right. Matt was far enough from the bar that I had complete view of Robin.

Me: "Who the fuck are you?" (with confused/angry tone and expression)

Robyn: "It's me." (puts on a little nervous smile like someone heard her fart)

I turn fully to Matt who seems to be fully immersed in his phone.

Me: "Yo is this your girl!?"

Matt: "No" (quickly looks back at his phone)

Me: "Do you mind if I.."

Matt just shrugged his shoulders giving me a green light to put her on blast before I even finished my sentence.

So by now Robin isn't even attempting to smile and looks really nervous. I turn to her and crack a huge smile on my face and bring her in for a hug. I can't remember if she gave me an apology or not but she said something along the lines of 'you scared me there' or something.

We ended up shooting the shit for a bit and she got dragged off by some guy and I didn't pursue.

Where I felt I went wrong was showing the frustration and anger in my face/body/tone which was justified but I don't think it's the the optimal way to to get something going with this girl. After some introspection I feel like the best line to have taken would have been to give a sideways glance of indifference, order a drink, turn back to my friend, and just completely ignore her. What do you guys think?

On another random tangent, as I wrote this out I remembered that this wasn't the first time something similar to this happened. There have been a couple times on other busy nights where she did things like lightly squeezing the back of my neck to get by, and lightly kicking me on the back of my knee so I give a kind of leg jerk. My reactions from what I can remember (am super drunk every time I'm there) were just a turn around and a smile. I've heard that women have absolutely no game when it comes seduction so do I treat these little things as signs of interest, or should I just kick her in the head the next time I see her(just kidding ladies)?

TlDr: girl smacks cup full of ice on me, I react by getting legitimately angry and smoothly tried to play it off like it was a joke
