Christine Nixon is an idiot. She was the most incompetant Police Commisioner the state of Victoria has ever had. Her policy of preferential hiring of physically inadequate people (mainly old men and tiny women) in place of more able-bodied younger men has left the great state of Victoria with a useless police force that will take decades to bring back to strength.

Nixon was also completerly derelict in her duties as Fire Commisioner. leaving her post on the day when people were dying in fires is outrageous.

It is bad enough that this woman got both of these positions because she was a woman. I can see no other possibility. She certainly was not up to being competant at either job. Now that she is being investigated for her gross incompetance and negligence, Nixon has the gall to blame everyone else but herself.

That Australia's own self-professed feminist prime-spinster endorses this incompetant idiot's memoirs is truly proof of how all women stick together.

What hoo-hah.

The Vic bushfires were an ongoing catastrophe and it would be unreasonable to expect the people working for emergency services to just completely opt-out of the rest of their lives for over a week.

Ms Nixon is right, it was up to the Royal Commission to decide if she acted appropriately. She said this when she faced the RC;

It was not my job to swoop in and take control. When you have good people who are more skilled in emergency management than I am you let those people do the job

That's not so unreasonable.

The fires happened in Feb 2009, this article is from April 2010. It's a bit ridiculous to post this now, I think.
