The general public's definition of "misogyny"

We get new definitions all the time. Lately, a popular application of the word:

Elevator guy was called a misogynist by Rebecca Watson because she argued that he, in a creepy way, sexualized her by stating: "...don't take this the wrong way... but [compliments her work and offers to continue a conversation over some coffee in his room]."

It was, in her opinion, creepy because it was 4am, in an elevator, and after he hadn't said anything to her in the more public setting under watchful eyes.

So, as we can see, by unknowingly sexualizing women [and by unknowingly, I mean, by not] and putting them in an uncomfortable position, and it's uncomfortable because they suspect men are a threat to their well-being and dignity[which isn't misandry apparently], then we are misogynists.

Misogynist = a man who hates women as much as women hate each other.

wife/gf yelling at husband/bf in public = misogyny husband/bf yelling at wife/gf in public = really dangerous misogyny

so i don't care a lot about the public perception of misogyny.
