I think she is recognizing her own prejudice which is refreshing. Most people hold onto biased beliefs without knowing where they come from and there what their ultimate consequences in society are. She clearly recognizes the causes of her prejudices, rooted in history and culture, while at the same time denouncing them as hypocritical to her own values. This is where dialogue begins not from up on a pedestal.

Some things I thought were interesting:

When our people were enslaved, "Massa" placed his Caucasian woman on a pedestal. She was spoiled, revered and angelic, while the Black slave woman was overworked, beaten, raped and farmed out like cattle to be mated. She was nothing and neither was our Black man. As slavery died for the greater good of America, and the movement for equality sputtered to life, the White woman was on the cover of every American magazine. She was the dazzling jewel on every movie screen, the glory of every commercial and television show. She was unequivocally the standard of beauty for this country, firmly unattainable to anyone not of her race. We daughters of the dust were seen as ugly, nappy mammies, good for day work and unwanted children, while our men were thought to be thieving, sex-hungry animals with limited brain capacity.

We reflect on this awful past and recall that if a Black man even looked at a White woman, he would have been lynched, beaten, jailed or shot to death.

So much in that one paragraph. Here I thought those poor white women were oppressed by the evil white patriarchs but instead they seem to be placed on a pedestal???

That feeling is betrayed. While we exert efforts to raise our sons and daughters to appreciate themselves and respect others, most of us end up doing this important work alone, with no fathers or like representatives, limited financial support (often court-enforced) and, on top of everything else, an empty bed. It's frustrating and it hurts!

Oh, I get it sista. I am not trying to be racist. I see the same things in white trash trailer parks or on the other side of the rail road tracks. Boys killing each other over being disrespected while they grow up in meth ridden matriarchal ghettos. The second to top comment is fascinating because the 26 yr old girl talks about how many black men won't date black women and she just doesn't seem to understand why. The real question is why they would want to? They grow up with overbearing single mothers who bitch about how evil men are and then they go to schools and community centers where girls are lifting up while boys are deconstructed systematically and told to change themselves so they won't be evil. The second to top commenter even talks about Maya Angelou and how she said that black womens fierce attitude was born from hard times but it sounds a lot like the "I am a independent and strong woman and men are intimidated by me" type of shaming. Gals, we aren't intimidated by your success. We don't want to fuck or love something that wants to rip our heads off constantly.

Are there really people who like being friends with angry assholes who have a chip on their shoulder? maybe? I doubt most guys want to fuck that though.

What I also find interesting is how white women hyper sexualize black men. I bet this has been going on for a long time, it was white women who would make false rape claims and then the white guys would get all white knighty and lynch the bro. IDK, but I would wager that the white woman hyper sexualizing black men culture is older than a few generations.

I do think it is funny how all these white women, who probably either partner with black men or have black fantasies, are going at this black woman and calling her a racist and bigot. Seems like many feminist and feminist men say similiar things or accuse MRAs of it all the time. Where is all the anger at the privileged white gals trying to keep their racist privilege???

It's funny, because most slaves that were purchased from the African tribes were generally convicts that were being sold into slavery as a means of punishment.

Ironically, we've been breeding convicts in America for centuries. As racist as that sounds, I assure you, I'm not racist. I just love the irony.

Those who understand women know they are very likely to be "secret bigots." They're not necessarily the ones waving protest signs against gays and other races, but in heated moments the truth comes out. On interracial marriage specifically, a recent study i saw in Time magazine showed that men are much more open to it than women. Women also hate hate HATE the fact that men are increasingly looking overseas for mates. And many women have an open hatred of men who prefer Asian women.

Speaking anecdotally, I got a ton of passive-aggressive shaming comments from women when I was dating a Black woman. (I'm white.) Guys didn't really care.

White people bought slaves from African nations whose whole economy was based on slavery. They didn't bring slavery to Africa.

I'm not really sure what her point is. White men hook up with black women too.

It sounds to me like she's just bitter that the men aren't beholden to sticking to one race, while neither are the women... but it would be racist to stick to just one race anyway.
