The book initially took the aim of debunking the "e-z guide" mentality of self-help etc, and then swiftly declined into an order = perfection montage. I found that slightly ironic too.. There are some helpful hints though, yet once it reached the assertions of Order/Entropy, Disorder/Chaos, Absolutes/Relativism, I switched off. The clout loses flavour when the book's initial criticisms are so readily and easily possible to invert in upon itself. It is worth a read however and makes some valid points. My particular favourites were the associations between agency and consequence. Mostly noted by appearance.
Unfortunately, this is another tabulation of affirmation and disciplinary mantras which should certainly be read with a portion (rather than grain) of salt.

actually, its probably a good read for people who feel they are being trampled on by the opposite sex. A little confidence goes a long way.

The book is bigoted. Though it's advice which is mostly circled back to having order in ones life and being able to present others with order is a solid stance for gaining confidence in ones self and learning to present the chance for others to follow allowing one to be a leader. Obviously you have to take a lot of things with a grain of salt.

Every so often they come back and harass me and talk about how they "pwned" my review (the pwning is no more than insults). I don't regret doing the piece, but im not a huge fan of getting harassed by them either.

I don't know how extortion comes into play, but they are at the opposite ends of the spectrum fighting for the attention of the growing male consciousness and attempting to impose their definitions of masculinity.
