    University Police received information Thursday afternoon that a female student stated she was the victim of a sexual assault at approximately 5:30 a.m. Thursday while jogging in the wooded area behind (west of) Research and Technology Park Building III/Student Health Center. The student reported that the incident took place on the walking/biking trails. She described the attacker as a white male, approximately 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-8, medium build, with facial stubble, and light colored eyes. No arrest has been made, and University Police urges anyone with information to call (251) 460-6312. USAPD encourages all individuals who use the paths in this area to do so in groups and during daylight hours.

  • Sexual Assault Report Update: March 2, 2011

    On February 17, 2011, the University of South Alabama Police Department received information of an alleged sexual assault reported to have occurred earlier that morning on the jogging trails near Technology and Research Park Building III. The alleged victim has since told USA Police that the incident did not occur, which was consistent with the findings of USAPD's investigation. The case is now closed.
