This article paints the female as a saint, and a the man as a piece of emotionally shallow, mediocre, unwilling to change garbage.

"Whether they went for counseling or not, the wife did not see her husband changing and eventually gave up. She stopped pushing him for change and the arguing and fighting subsided. She gave up on the marriage and started thinking about what to do next."

You will never see the female getting critical review in any of these types of articles. No blame is ever assigned to the female, and ALL responsibility for negative outcomes is given to the man.

The Walkaway Wife is calm, rational and even considerate, while her husband may be angry and bitter. He sais, "She may already have been recovering from the emotional baggage of divorce before her husband even found out they were getting divorced."

Again she is painted as saintly and victimized. Fuck everything about this.

Edit: One more disparity between men and women. Why should HE have to always be the one required to change? Maybe SHE needs to change. Never, not once, will you find a relationship columnist or even a single article in the mainstream media discussing a female as the one that needs to change. It is ALWAYS the man that is required to be a hero, change his ways, and take responsibility for all relationship related pitfalls.

This leads me to ask, should marriage be harder to break?

I mean, no fault divorce laws have essentially insured that divorce will happen regardless of how one partner or the other feels. Many divorced individuals never go through counseling, nor do they even have a fair shot at legal protection. Its a whirlwind that feeds itself many times over on the tears of one side or the other.

There is no reason for a man to get married and there is no reason for a woman to not get divorced.
I watch young men get married, my nephew, a guy a work and my other nephew are all getting married. I ask them why and they proclaim it is because they are in love and want to have children. Poor fools. In today's society women are taught that the moment life gets hard to bail on their husbands and men are taught to tough it out and "survive" and to do the "right thing."
Men are taught to never quit and women are taught to blame the man and quit. Poor bastards. Every single one of them, chances are, doomed to divorce based on current marriage and divorce statistics. See the problem? Men still think it's 1950 and women know it is 2011, already.

I think this is because women date assholes when they are younger, so that when they finally wise up, they realize they picked the wrong partner, and this coincides with getting to walk away with a huge cash payout, and ruining the ex so it is hard for him to move on and recover. I don't care. Most women age badly.

Men should resist marriage until the last possible moment, when loneliness makes life feel as if they are always dragging around their own entrails. I plan to get married at 89. Until then, I will date a butterface (to increase chances of her sticking around), when marriage is demanded, I'll get engaged for a year, then use that last year to find a new girlfriend. Dump. Rinse and repeat, while always having a hot girl on the side, if I can get it.

It may not be an honest plan, but I've been living it for a long time. I tried the honest marriage approach and was burned with gasoline in hell. I've been vindicated because she has three asshole bratty kids and an ugly asshole cheating husband. She's wretchedly depressed and tells me often because we still chat. She wishes we were still together. That helps the pain, but I can't deal with the Family Court, and women only date men who are wanting marriage.
