I ask because people seem really riled up about that writer who chose to believe the woman who said her husband raped her, and then was jailed for dropping the charges, even though she maintained that he had done it (http://falserapesociety.blogspot.com/2010/11/writer-has-no-compunction-about-calling.html)

Would you believe her ("oh god, that's terrible!") or would you maintain a neutral point of view ("well, if it actually happened, that's awful").

Has anyone who has strong "accused rights" beliefs ever been in this position? I suppose having those beliefs, you'd probably be the last person someone would confide in, but I'm interested if anyone has had to deal with this, and how you navigated it.
