I think it's oversimplifying it to say it's ONLY about child support.

There are an awful lot of men who have been trapped into the role of biological father without any consultation whatsoever. Women have a lot of options: there's abortion, there's adoption, both before birth, shortly after birth, and even later, and then, if she's a real bitch, she can abandon the child with family and just fuck off to Buffalo, like a lot of skanky women do.

Women who give babies up for adoption get to be "birth mothers" and get called "heroes" on Facebook support pages. Men get called "deadbeat dads" and "sperm donors" if they try to play a nonsupporting role. It's a double standard and it's not fair.

I think the thing that REALLY pisses me off is when a man who has been fathering a child for some time takes off because he's met up with a new woman and she either already has kids, has gotten pregnant with a new kid, doesn't want kids, or doesn't like his kid. That's a fucking douchebag move and THOSE guys should be castrated.

I couldn't walk away from my offspring, financially or otherwise. If I was a sperm donor or something, I guess that'd be different. But if I personally impregnated a woman, accidental or not, that kid is going to need a father, more than a paycheck.

The general MRA advocates for equal/shared parenting. That is an important part of this discussion

When there is equal/shared parenting, or even when there is a significant amount of time spent with both parents, BOTH parents incur a significant cost. Both parents need to pay more rent for a larger place - instead of a couple paying rent for a 2+ bedroom place, each parent has to pay rent for a 2+ bedroom place (or own a house).

The incremental cost for the amount of time a child spends with one parent over the other is a different matter. Food, for example, is a legitimate claim if the child spends more time with one parent than the other.

I think you will find that people here have no problem splitting the costs of the child care - but they want all the costs to be taken into account, and want it split 50/50.

This is the general view I have seen here for divorced parents, or parents who choose to have a child.

In a completely separate issue - abortion - the people here want to have a say in it, since it is their kid. Generally, we admit that it would not be right for a male to impose on a female's body to force her to have an abortion she does not want. Similarly, we do not think it is right for a female to impose on a male's life to have a child he does not want. The middle ground is not easy to resolve, but the current popular idea is some form of financial-abortion, where the male gives up all rights as a father as well as all obligations. They are not allowed visiting rights, they are not allowed anything at all, but they also don't have a financial obligation.

Is that so difficult to understand? Please stop mixing the two issues together in order to make MRA's look bad.

In theory I could sell my eggs for $10-20k a pop, but I don't because I don't like the idea of a biological child of mine running around that I have no relationship with or connection to.

I know a woman who did that. She doesn't want to have kids.

A man has to pay to baby sit his own children for a few hours every other weekend? Women have, and feminists spearheaded it, created a situation where a man isn't a father but instead has to pay a montly amount of money for the offchance of getting to be a father and that lasts until she finds a boyfriend to replace him.

It's not about the money but ofcourse you fucking women only think that and then you project it onto us to paint mens rights in a negative light. IT'S ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO BE A FATHER! while still being charged for it/ aka made into a wage slave.

Would you work for free? Especially if I treated you like shit? Or would you demand a portion of what you created in exchange for your work, aka a check? Men don't care about the money as much as they care about the connection and being a father.

But you being the bazillionth woman to bring up the money side of the equation while men talk about the father side just makes me think you women really are all gold diggers who see men as walking atm machines.

Do you even understand that men have emotions and that not being able to raise their own children would hurt them???
