Once again, the Australian DCS/Social Services department shows just how much contempt they have for the people they are supposed to be helping. Also, the Parliamentary Ombudsman once again displays just how toothless they really are - much like every other single ombudsman in the country (I worked for a little while for the energy ombudsman in my state. "Useless" would be a compliment).

Poor guy. The sickest part is that he was warned off going to the media, though it would have solved the screwup a year ago. I can't find it in me to come up with a reasonable excuse for this sort of thing happening (Overstaffing? Underfunding? Clerical error? Fuck off, there's no way this should have happened), though I'm sure that the family will get nothing more than a sour apology. I hope the children weren't traumatised by being in foster care when they could have been with their grandparents. Disgusting.
