To be honest, that is the character. He is unnecessarily rude, sexist, and occasionally racist. He insults whenever he can and is an all together unpleasant person. Maybe you are offended, but so what? He is mean to everybody.

Hugh Laurie was hired to play someone who is very offensive. The whole show is centred around that.

Actually, an unrelated male (i.e. step-father) is 50 times more likely to hit on the daughter, than the biological father: it seems that nature has it all figured out (not surprising really!).

I like the show in general and agree that it's not usually like that, but that said, every now and then some misandrist shit is injected into it--but then again, isn't that true of most American shows? I have a low tolerance for it and if it is woven into the whole show instead of just making an occasional appearance I give the show a miss.

I remember another episode where a Christian couple came in and the woman was claiming to be pregnant in spite of being a virgin. House went along with it and told the husband that it was true, pulling some bogus test result out of his ass. Paternity fraud enabled. What a laugh.

well, this is now a show that i refuse to watch. Shame, i was about to start. Why is it alright for men to be demonized as such in the media
