I have a question. What do you all think of Ricky Martin adopting twins? I say that if that's what he wants, good on him, and I bet he'll be a great dad. But I'd apply that to someone like Jennifer Aniston too. Curious to know what everyone else's opinions are. We shouldn't devalue dads, but I also see no need to hold the nuclear family unit up as the be all and end all of child-raising units.

Bill is a dumbass in many ways but he is a lot more intelligent than Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck, which comes through sometimes. Of course, Bill actually graduated college unlike Beck or Limbaugh, so it's not surprising. Bill is a moderate in comparison to them, but he's still fairly impressionable by right-wingers.

Anyway, it's good to see someone challenging this bullshit.

As someone who has grown up in a separated family as the 'man of the house' since age 5 and has lived through so many issues ... Jennifer Aniston has no idea what she is talking about.

It's like she's acting out a 'we don't need them' feminist Tyler Durden without realizing the movie's point was to say, don't go too far with your superego.

I think she really alienated a lot of her fan base when she says stuff like that-- 30-somethings guys who actually are fathers or have friends that are... but who pay some attention to her because she used to be good-looking back in a day they remember fondly because they were young.

As a married father I can strongly suggest that single people never even consider having a child alone. It's already very difficult enough with a spouse/partner. Trying to do it alone means you have much less of the necessary resources to give to a child. It's selfish and much less than what you can offer if you're doing it long-term with another person.
