I disagree with him about the game--it's a game, people--but I love his analysis of Laurie Penny's article. I agree with her that strangers who tell you to smile are annoying and rude, but not homicidal-rage-worthy.

It's a pretty lame game and I think what it represents is incredibly, mind-bogglingly stupid... but it doesn't worry me that much.

Games are games. I've killed plenty of hookers, ran pedestrians down with my car, and shot a drug-dealer priest. I did all of this in Grand Theft Auto. Hell, I accidentally shot a kid in the head in Fallout 3. (And by accidentally, read: drunkenly.)

My point is, we all do fucked up things in video games. I'm not about to ban a form of speech and entertainment. But, what's behind it in this case is pretty pathetic.
