I agree that it takes courage to admit when you've erred, especially in such a public fashion, especially when the results have been so damaging to another person. It takes real courage to correct one's mistakes.

I don't think we should revere her for making the mistake in the first place. But for finally, at last, doing what she could to correct the mistake, we should recognize her courage.

If more people acted like this woman, there would be many fewer men in jail. If more people honored this behavior, people wuold have a way out of fuckups rather than the "I'll stick to my story til I die" approach that is common now.

My ex took my kids away based on an allegation of abuse. In my guess she made the allegation in order to cover her own ass, to justify and excuse her irresponsible drinking and affair. She felt it was her only way to avoid losing the kids.

Now that her strategy "worked", and I am completely out of their lives, does she really believe it? Does she really think the kids are better off with me completely out of their lives?

But it's impossible for her to recant now, after the carnage she's caused. She's too far down the road.

If only she had the courage of the woman in this news story.

It takes real courage to correct one's mistakes.

Yes, but this wasn't a mistake. An example of a mistake was when Ron Artest punched the wrong guy after getting a beer thrown on him. This woman lied, then let the man suffer for 3 years.

I don't think we should revere her for making the mistake in the first place. But for finally, at last, doing what she could to correct the mistake, we should recognize her courage.

If more people acted like this woman, there would be plenty of other people serving a few years in jail for something they did not do.

I see where you're going with this, but I just cannot agree. We shouldn't honor this shitty, childish behavior.

If only she had the courage of the woman in this news story.

This woman is a coward. She didn't recant until there was evidence that she lied.

"Peguero confessed her lie to a priest and then to authorities this year."

See? She confessed this year. But, when was the man set out on bail? Since September. That means that there's a few month in-between, where evidence showed he hadn't raped her, and when she finally confessed. I believe this woman is only pretending to feel bad, so that she can get out of more serious charges.
