Dude, get married if you want. And in 20 years you will have a 40+ year old wife with saggy tits and stretch marks, who nags you and never puts out. You will give ONE woman the Ring of Power, and she will decide if you have sex or not. She will also decide whether or not she will divorce you for cash and prizes, and take 40% of your gross while she fucks other guys and teaches your kids to hate you.

Meanwhile, at 48, my plates are 20-26. If one is giving me trouble I rotate another one in. One crashes, I replace her with another one. Do you think my buddies' wives can hold a candle to 20 year old pussy? Even the BEST looking of them isn't even in the same zip code. I sat in with a friend's band tonight, and caught up with a couple of guys I haven't seen in a while. So yeah, get married young, when you are betting a chick even money that she will {A} Love you for the rest of her life or {B} divorce rape you. So then take the 50% of marriages that survive. How many of those are medium-shitty or worse? Half? I'd say at least that. Of the remaining 25%, probably 10-15% are "ok". That leaves you a 10% shot of something "good" to "Disney"...and I'm being generous. So you have a 1/10 shot, and I have a 400% shot. And if I change my mind and want to get married at least 3 of my plates would say "Married? Sure! How about tomorrow?!"

I think most have gotten the social and legal perks of marriage.

I also want to add that there's inheritance. Spousal privilege, as in a spouse can refuse to testify over something told to them in private in a criminal case. There's bedside privileges in hospitals. There's appeasing nagging mothers or judgemental coworkers who think you're either a unabomber or a crazy cat lady if you don't want to be married or the general social pressure to marry. If you're gay it can be a solid cover up (see Elton John). If you're an aging woman, marriage would be an official title and sign of commitment from your man... even if he cheats, you're still #1. Marriage is also a good way to find some political power -- Arnold S married into the Kennedy family and some time later, he's the Governor of California.

None, unless you have kids/are planning to have kids in immediate future. Makes medical stuff a lot easier, and the stability can be reassuring for the children once they're old enough to understand relationships (i.e. kids don't want to have to move between houses every weekend).

Tried it twice with 2 very different women. Same result. Changed expectations and massive contempt toward her. The second time included massive contempt toward me.

Plus side.. Married two people who didn't try to take half and I initiated both but the second was pretty mutual.

Aside from a marginal tax benefit (maybe) marriage has absolutely no benefits to men today. Even then, such a tax benefit is not adequate compensation for the high risk of losing half your stuff if you ever slip up.
