Oh my God... This is ridiculous. The whole point of statutory rape is that adults are supposed to know better, that they are supposed to be held to a higher standard than the children that they are sleeping with. The adult is supposed to be the responsible one.

Deborah Sherwin, defending, said that it was clear from the video interview that police carried out that the boy was tall at six foot one, and mature for his age.

"Honestly, your Honor, she looked 18!" Like that ever works for a guy... Hell, there could be a girl who lies and says she's 18 and probably even has a fake ID stating that she is 18 and the guy would still go to jail.

Since stat-rape laws are based on one party being more "mature" than the other, this judge is basically saying that a male child has more maturity than an adult female.

Allowed to walk free? I call bullshit and misleading headline.

FTFA: "She pleaded guilty to four charges of sexual activity with a child and offering to supply a Class A drug and was given a 12 month suspended jail sentence and ordered to register as a sex offender for five years."
