Background, we knew each other for 11 years prior and had been FWB. Eventually we decided to take it to another level, but we were long distance and argued often because the past pulled strings at some insecurities I had. He wasn’t perfect either, but I love him and feel like it was the tension that was our downfall. Anyway. Please see below for the letter I wrote him.

“First, I love myself and I’ve taken the time to face myself and make efforts towards the continuous process of growth that every human from all walks of life spends a life time evolving for themselves... in their own unique and endless journey of growth. We can’t do all areas of our journey alone, which is a journey in itself for some to admit.

Instead of us clashing... Hold me accountable from a place of love..but be patient with me. I trust you to help me grow in the areas that are more of a strength for you. We both have strengths in different areas of life to add to this dynamic. We are both two strong minded individuals, lets us our minds for good.

The combo of masculine and feminine energy can be a balance of power, not the loss of it.

It’s been a long journey getting to this point...but I feel like we’ve always been drawn to each other, and I don’t think it’s something that a person comes across often. Which makes it something special.

You had to grow to the point where you wanted to pursue this in June, which was a huge milestone for us... I say I want to grow with you because I trust you to have my best interest, without judgement or ill intention …that is a gift i haven’t received from many people in my life.. which has been a missing piece on my journey.
