The other comments are right. Mirror his energy and put your energy 100% into your own life and goals. Go out with friends more. Stop inviting him to go with you. Don't feel like you have to tell him where you're going either. Let him wonder lol

It sounds like now that he's "got you," he's showing his true colors (lazy, doesn't want to put the effort). Why should he? You're letting him getting away with it.

Don't use the term HVM willy nilly, the only way for a man to "prove" he's HV is not only efforts, but consistency. In other words, nobody can say he's truly HVM until he's proven himself over the years, if not a lifetime.

Also: if he really wanted to, he'd do it.

None of this "you have to nag him about it" bullshit. Trust your instincts, you're tired of doing that already, and you will grow resentful. Then you'll try to internalize it by telling yourself exactly the kind of thoughts you're thinking right now: "oh he's still pretty much HVM BUT he's lazy." Do NOT let yourself fall into that trap.

An important, insanely important, trait on a HVM is once again, consistency. And no, breadcrumbing doesn't count.

There's no changing the dynamics because HE doesn't want to. He'll probably put "effort" when you're all but walking out of the door. That kind of man will undoubtedly go back again to being lazy once he "snags" you back.
