Ok i'm 25- self employed, so I work at least a little bit every day. My friend is turning 25 this weekend- ive known him for 10+ years, so were def very close. He just texted me about birthday plans- Basically he wants to do something big with 3-4 of his closest friends, like go to New York, go paintballing etc, and then drink and party with a larger crowd at night.
This sounds good in theory, but there are a couple problems. One, i'm 25, witha fiancee and apartment, and work to do every day- I can't dedicate literally a whole day to someone turning 25. Two, its thursday and he wants to plan shit out for saturday. Everyone has obligations now so I doubt he'll be able to get everyone in the same place at the same time with two days notice. Also he doesnt have a whole lot of friends, so the night time drinking/partying would def be dependant on me finding something since I know more people.
I love the kid, but I haven't had like a "birthday day" since before college... isn't 25 a little old to be putting that much weight on your birthday? And isnt it a little selfish to assume everyone can just drop everything for an entire day? What do you guys think?
