Life is not fair. This is not a just world. The thing where you win if you make all the right choices is a fantasy that only happens in movies and video games. So be prepared for that. Work hard to realize your goals, but accept that you may not always achieve them.

Be a gentleman. Be assertive, don't let people walk all over you, make clear what you want, but do it in a civil way that takes others' needs into account.

Make friends, but learn to be self-reliant. Take care of your health, both physical and mental. Enjoy life all you want, but take care not to damage yourself.

Emotions, especially as a teenager, can be huge. But they can also be fleeting. Enjoy romance if you can, but realize it is very likely not to last. Postpone marriage, especially since laws are not set up to protect men.

Read, widely. Learn, both practical skills (e.g. cooking) and mental ones (e.g. mindfulness). Talk to many different kinds of people and try to understand what makes them tick.

Find role models who inspire you and study how they became who they are. Apply this to your own life.

Okay, I'm your Uncle on Reddit, I remember when I was second year of high school let me tell you I left private Catholic school for public school and 9/11 happened YES! That was true, omg, like knowing all these new people and thinking LA was next lol. And it was kinda ghetto at that high school too like Dangerous Minds lol. We all were scared in chemistry class.

To help you, go where the love is basically. Find your people you can hang with at lunch and try joining some school groups what I regret not doing. I hung out with all the goths and rockers in black clothes and piercings lol it was 2001 different time we ditched class and smoked weed getting into trouble. But no, do some groups and have all that on your record like its a job resume, cause that'll look good for colleges even some jobs depending what you are going into.

Actually, apply for a job now, they are hiring teenagers since grown folks are on unemployment not trying to work, when I was 15 or 16 I couldn't work anywhere not being 18+ it sucked so take advantage make your own money.

Don't underestimate the value in having a romantic partner that has a lot of emotional intellegence and stability. It's way more important than being hot.

Continuing to have corgual relationships with some exes and being supportive of you all the time are good signs.

I'll try to keep it short and sweet, but it's hard as there is so much I wished I knew as a frustrated teen:

Academically: Work hard, it can open up more opportunities

Socially: Don't stress about plutonic or romantic relationships. Because everyone is not even close to being fully emotionally developed, your friends and partners can change rapidly, and that can be confusing.

Financially: Try to acquire good working habits, maybe through studying or a small job. Experience is key. Also learn how to save a bit of every pay check or income (even gifts). That mindset will pay dividends.

Technology: Specializing in anything can do wonders for a career, pick something you really enjoy doing if tech is your thing

Understand that people make mistakes, including yourself, and forgive them where appropriate. Don't hold that grudge.

Attitude is everything. Pay attention to how you handle challenging situations. Your mindset can be a key tool in overcoming them.
