We never see posts about respecting men on the International Women's Day ! men are not disposable slaves that only exist to serve women !

Gender equality is not about men supporting women, but about men and women supporting each other.

It's about #HeAndSheForEachOther not #HeForShe

This is exactly the kind of thing feminists complain about. That women are socialized to put other people first at the expense of their own needs.

I agree that looking at how women are socialized is important, but damn how we can put the same expectation on men without a second thought doesn't make sense to me.

Feminists spout rhetoric about respecting and supporting women every single day. Men should have at least one day where the focus is instead on their issues, as articulated by them.

Interestingly, the reality is the precise opposite of the feminist myth that "every day is men's day."

Well, how a person is going to treat roughly half of the planet's human population is actually a pretty good measure of their character.

Treat people well.

I think whoever decides what IMD is about should focus on cyber-bullying next year. All the #KillAllMen and #MenAreTrash bullshit has a debilitating effect on young boys. The self-hate in another decade is going to be strong.

These are inexact things though and a poor comparison. One of these metrics is far better than the other.

How someone treats others or what ideologies they uphold are actually pretty good metrics. The parallel to women would be how she treats men and what her stance is on men's rights. And those are pretty reasonable metrics for quality of character.

Someone who believes the only metric of a woman's character is subservience is more comparable to someone who believes the only metric of a man's character is utility.

Edit: I agree though that making things about women on men's day is hypocritical, just pointing out these are not good comparisons.
