Its deeply disturbing to me that a Black professor at Berkley was so scared to publicly share his lived experiences that he was forced to pen an anonymous letter. Black professors only represent 2% of full-time professors in this country. Black men have so little voice in this country. Anyone trying to silence them should be rebuked quickly and forcefully! Everyone’s lived experiences are valid and it diminishes our entire society when minorities are silenced. The fact that the leaders at Berkeley have made no statement in regards to this is very telling. Their silence demonstrates they consent to having this Black Professor silenced. This can’t be allowed to stand.
