I would argue that the main reason the MRM in India is thriving compared to ones in the West is because it got off on the ground floor with feminism in India. In Western nations, feminism was around for a long time before men organized and began trying to get their issues attended to, and by that point, feminism was pervasive and influential enough to use it's social power to suppress attention to them and brand them all misogynistic "backlashes." In India though, feminism doesn't have as much history or influence, and so the Indian MRM is competing with them on a much more level playing field. The relative lack of success of MRMs in Western nations is due precisely to feminists wielding their power to suppress equality in ways that Indian feminists are clearly trying to do in India, but are failing, because they didn't get enough of a head start.
