I don't like these endless discussions (very popular these days both on the left and the right) about "masculinity", "real masculinity", "toxic masculinity", "secure masculinity", "healthy masculinity",....

The terms and their definitions are very unclear. Nobody knows what they are talking about, there is plenty of room for manipulation, obfuscation and trickery, discussion usually goes in circles, and you don't arrive anywhere in the end.

Best to just forget about "masculinities" and other dubious terms, and simply focus on actual facts on the ground.

The way I see it, in contexts where violence is seen as necessary, it is males who are tasked with the gender role of doing that violence. And most of that male violence is directed toward other males. Arguably this is ultimately rooted in sexual selection, with violent men tending to attract women because of their capacity for protection and stealing resources.

I don't think there is much question that the right isn't much better than the left when it comes to men.

That's why real support for men has been lagging for so long. The left has been there to quickly pick up the causes of many other groups. Why? Because the left actually cares about those groups for their own sake.

On the other hand the right generally only cares about other conservatives. Why because they only care about themselves. When they do the shit they do they don't do it for "men" or "whites" or any any other demographic.

Niether side gives a damn about men outside of "what can men do for our cause?".
